Storm Match Up Hybrid Black/Yellow/Royal

Storm has upped their game with the Storm Match Up Hybrid bowling ball. They have changed up the core from the original Match ball to offer more flare potential and more hook with the Stinger 2.0 core. The idea behind this change was to get more entry angle and better pin carry. This core is wrapped with Storms successful Reactor coverstock.

Storm Match Up Hybrid

The matchup hybrid features the same stinger 2.0 core found in the matchup pearl and match up solid, but is now wrapped in the reactor hybrid cover. With the matchup balls having a lower differential (0.035), and a higher RG (2.57), this series is perfect for rev dominant players, or anyone looking for that third game league ball. The lower differential will keep the ball from flaring too much, and the higher RG will get the ball through the heads easily. This ball looks great when i use it on dryer lanes when other balls are to early and too strong for my game. I drilled mine 50 x 4 x 30 very clean in the fronts and get's in a heavy mid lane roll with pop off the spot.

Storm Match Up Hybrid

I like the ball, but for a 2 hander like me with more revs than speed, this ball could desperately use a shine up because this ball likes to read the outside edge on a house shot and zoom back across to the other side, rarely getting a Brooklyn strike. When lofting, it's more easy to ding up than I'd like, but still a good ball from Storm. I'd reccomend this to low rev, straight players with a slower speed.

I currently throw the tropical breeze and like it but I want a little more ball reaction. Will the matchup hybrid be a good choice and what drilling option would you recommend for a full roller with focus on control

Answer:

Yes, this would be an excellent choice! It would be best to discuss drilling options with a local driller.
