Better Than the Original Hero

The original Hero was like a Fearless on steroids. Take that same ball and put a solid cover on it and you’ve got something great here if you liked the shape of the original Hero.

This ball may be a bit much for typical house patterns. If you find that’s the case, hit is with a 3000 or 4000 Abralon or Siaair pad to just help the ball get through the front a bit cleaner. This ball does have a tendency to start up earlier. You will see this ball get into a roll quickly. Players with more ball speed will not have a problem getting this ball through the fronts. Medium rev players will like this ball because it will allow you to keep the ball in front of you on flatter patterns without sacrificing backend reaction. This ball is a must in my bag.

It's The Hero

The Hero Solid is definitely the og Hero's big brother! As the first Hero that came out it has been my go to ball. But now that the Solid is here all I can say is WOW! When you need that extra hook for heavy oil conditions or just need more overall, then this ball is for you. Fantastic looking ball with great shelf appeal. The Solid for me is about 5 boards stronger and a couple feet sooner then the original and with it's dull surface out of the box it's best on the fresh and continues without an overly sharp motion on the backend. The Hero Solid and original are a great 1-2 punch!

First out of your bag!

Starting off, The Hero Solid really is a fantastic looking ball in your bag, on the shelf and in your hand. Performance wise, the Hero Solid for me is one of those balls you can pull out first thing for practice and understand what the lane is giving you. It has a duller surface out of the box making for what looks like and is above-average on the hook chart and because of that its going to be at its best on the fresh. For heavier conditions, lower rev-rate bowlers are going to love this as it's going to bite in the mid-lane where other balls won't and it is going to continue without an overly sharp reaction on the backend. The Hero Solid is a ball you'll use often and with striking results

First Ball Out of the Bag

First off, this ball looks amazing going down the lane. Once other bowlers see the colors, and how it goes through the pins, they will definitely ask which ball you are throwing. The Hero Solid is extremely consistent and steady. It still has enough ball to read the end of the pattern, but it does not over respond to friction. I drilled mine with the pin up above the bridge and the CG in the palm. If you are looking to start an arsenal of bowling balls, The Brunswick Hero Solid is a perfect ball to build around.

Great ball

The Hero solid for me is one of those big hooking symmetrical balls. Its best used for those medium to heavier oil conditions. Comparing it to the original Hero, in my opinion is a good 5-6 boards stronger and 3-4 feet sooner. For a ball that hooks this much, it is pretty easy to control. I can either keep my angles closed or open my angles up and go away from the pocket. Very versatile ball for as strong as it is

Brunswick Hero Solid

The Brunswick Hero Solid out of box read the lane a little early for my style of bowling. For bowlers with a low rev rate or high speed or low tilt this ball will be just fine the way it is out of box. I was able to dial it in for me by shining up the surface to add a little length and save a little more energy for down lane. Now I really like the way this ball shapes. It has a strong controlled motion that hits hard. All bowlers are different and sometimes a little surface tweaking can make all the difference. :-)

Question:

I want to replace this my hammer Web with this ball is that a good idea

11/9/2020 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

Yes, this would be pretty close to the Hammer Web. They both are upper mid performance balls and have the same 2000 grit finish out of the box to help the ball read the mid lane and have a smooth arcing hook down the lane. The Web had a hybrid cover which did give a little more length than the solid cover on the Hero Solid but they would still have a similar overall hook and work well in medium oil conditions.
