Balls with Same Hook Potential, Lane Conditions and Coverstock as the Storm Axiom Pearl:

Storm Axiom Pearl

The Storm Axiom Pearl continues the line of statement bowling balls. This ball uses the same Orbital Core as the original solid version and the NeX (Nano Extreme) Pearl coverstock which is an upgrade to the NRG coverstock. The NeX Pearl reads the midlane and produces an impressive backend. The Orbital Core doesn't require much from the bowler to get it reved up early. This ball matches up best on medium to heavy oiled lanes.

Question:

What is the difference between Axiom Pearl and the Trend and the Hy-road?

8/27/2020 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

For starters they are all in different classes. The Hy-Road is a mid performance, the Axiom Pearl is upper mid performance, and the Trend is high performance. The Trend and Axiom have similar length with both having a pearl coverstock that is polished but the Trend is stronger. The Hy-Road has a hybrid cover which will read a little earlier than a pearl coverstock but it is weaker overall than the other two.

Question:

Will this ball fit into or with HyRoad X and the IQ Emerald?

9/2/2020 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

This will be stronger than the IQ Emerald actually but it has similar length to the IQ Emerald. It goes longer and has a stronger backend hook to allow it to work in medium to heavy oil while the Emerald was more for medium oil. The Hy-Road X will also have decent length but it is weaker still than the Emerald so it is more for medium to lighter oil.

Question:

I have a friend that absolutely loves his storm frantic. Can you tell me if you have a current storm ball that would closely compare to the frantic?

9/10/2020 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

If you can still find the Roto Grip MVP in stock in the weight you want that would be the closest comparison currently. From Storm the Frantic fits between the Storm Electrify Hybrid and the Storm Hy-Road. The Hy-Road is a little stronger but the Electrify Hybrid is a little weaker. Hope this helps.

Question:

Will this ball be able to handle more oil on the lane then the Storm Iq Nano Pearl

9/12/2020 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

With a polished finish on the Axiom Pearl and a duller finish on the IQ Nano Pearl I would lean more to the IQ Nano Pearl handling heavier oil better.

How does the axiom pearl differ from the axiom and which would be the better upgrade from the storm agent

9/25/2020 - By

The Axiom Pearl gives you more length than the original Axiom. The Storm Agent also had a pearl cover with a polished finish so it would act very similar to the Axiom Pearl.

I have a storm intense fire ball since I can't get it no more what ball is close to it

11/3/2020 - By

The Storm Intense Fire would fit somewhere between the Storm Phaze III and the Storm Parallax. The Phaze III having a little less hook potential and the Parallax having a slightly stronger hook potential. But both with very similar length and reactions to the Intense Fire.

Question:

How would this compare to the IQ tour?

12/20/2020 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

This ball will give you more length than the IQ Tour and have a sharper backend. They are both going to work well in medium oil. The IQ Tour has a slightly duller finish out of the box which helps it handle a little heavier oil at times.

12/25/2020 - By

Yes, they will have a very similar length and great backend hook. The Axiom Pear will actually have a stronger reaction on the backend which helps it work up into some heavier oil at times while the DV8 Diva was mostly medium oil and some lighter oil conditions.

Question:

Can I use this ball fr 10 pin n 7 pin

2/20/2021 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

This ball is designed to be a strike ball and has hook potential so it may be hard to get certain spares with this ball. I would suggest getting a plastic ball for spare shots because that will give you the straightest shot possible to get those corner pins.

Question:

How would you compare this ball to the proton physix

2/27/2021 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

This ball will react very different from the Proton Physix. The Proton Physix is a high performance ball for heavier oil only with a duller finish to read earlier in the mid lane for a smooth arcing hook. The Axiom Pearl is an upper mid performance ball so it will be a little less hook potential overall compared to the Proton Physix. Because of this it is more for medium to heavy oil and the polished finish helps this ball read the lanes later to have a more angular backend hook.

Question:

HyRoad Pearl vs Axiom Pearl?

3/2/2021 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

The Hy-Road Pearl is a mid performance ball designed to work in medium oil conditions while the Axiom Pearl is an upper mid performance ball and can work in medium to heavy oil conditions because it is a little stronger. They will have similar length on the lanes because both are pearl coverstocks with a polished finish.

Question:

Will Storm Max pair good with this?

5/29/2021 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

The Storm Hy-Road Max will have a much different reaction than the Axiom Pearl. The Axiom Pearl is designed to go long on the lanes and have a sharp backend hook while the Hy-Road Max is a duller finish designed to read the midlane with a continuous arcing hook. If you wanted to have two different options for medium and some medium to heavy oil then this would work but if you needed a ball to transition to after the Axiom Pearl was becoming too aggressive you may do better to transition to the Hy-Road Pearl in lighter oil.

How similar is the Axiom Pearl to the Astro Phisix?

12/1/2021 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Question:

is this ball a good step up from the hyroad max? or are they too close?

4/22/2022 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

The Axiom Pearl is going to be a lot different than the Hy-Road Max. The Axiom Pearl goes much longer on the lanes and has a sharper backend hook while the Hy-Road Max reads earlier on the lane for a smoother arcing hook. A lot of times when the lanes change from heavier oil down to lighter oil through the night the bowler will transition from a ball that maybe reads earlier for the heavier oil to a ball that reacts later as the lanes get drier to give them more length. This would be the opposite where you would use the Axiom Pearl in medium to heavy oil and it reacts very late on the lane and to transition to a Hy-Road Max for medium oil and it would read early. Instead of using it as a transition it may be better to use one or the other depending on what you needed to use that night. I think you could possibly have both options so that you can have the option to either play a smoother arcing hook if that is the best line or play something a little more down and in if that is a better line so it gives you that versatility but they are not really a good option to change out as the lanes transition.
