Question:

So I currently throw a #12 ebonite choice solid and felt like I needed something heavier so I bought the #16 notorious if I had this ball drilled the same as my choice solid how much difference would I see with hook and pin carry if any (not sure of layout numbers but my pro-shop guy drilled a continuous high flare layout)

Answer:

There will be a few things that are significantly different. First the 12lb high performance balls uses a generic symmetric weight block in most cases so if you go up to 16lbs you will get the Asymmetric weight block which will have a stronger hook potential. Also, the 16lb ball will driver through the pins better than a lighter weight ball which will result in better pin action.
