No, I would not recommend this to a friend

It is OK

I purchased a ZL1 elsewhere, so I understand if you do not post this review. I personally own an old Cobra wrist support. Circa 1990, The black original with the fixed wrist, and the finger support. I was hoping to use the ZL1 as a backup but the construction leaves me with something to be desired. The shape and strength of this unit is fine, but what I really do not like about it is how it is constructed. The original Cobra (that this seems to emulate) is a metal back with a foam cushion, and it has 2 straps.
The ZL1 has a similar metal backing, but instead of having the foam Like the Cobra, the ZL1 is wrapped around the metal with a soft cloth with a vinyl back. What this does for me is it does not feel as secure, it wants to move around a little while I wear it.
I have to wear a wrist support as I broke my Scaphod in my Wrist, so I do not use one of these for want, it is necessity. If I ever break my cobra, I will be trying to repair it rather than try to use this for any length of time.

Nice

I do not have very big wrist or forearm, but the strap just barely gets around to fasten into place. With my Cobra I was able to wear a wristband underneath it to avoid sweating, but this one it is impossible to wear the wristband under it.
