Hammer wants you to be ruthless to your competition with their Hammer Ruthless mid performance bowling ball. The combination of the Juiced Solid coverstock and 40 Watt core result in good overall ball motion with a strong reaction at the backend on medium to heavy oil conditions. This bowling ball is Carbon Fiber Infused! Carbon fiber is one of the toughest materials on earth. Hammer decided to add this material to the inner core of this ball for added strength and durability allowing them to offer an incredible 3 year warranty.

So far I really like what I see from the new Hammer Ruthless. It picks up in the mid lane and has a strong overall hook without being jumpy. For me that means when I make a mistake there is a better chance of leaving a makeable spare instead of some crazy split. I've only used it on a house shot so far, but I can see using this on sports shots when I want to ball down from the Ebonite Futura or Columbia 300 Chaos.
Here is my take on the new Hammer Ruthless. The new Ruthless features the 40 Watt symmetrical core wrapped by a Dark Blue/Blue/White Juiced Solid cover. Factory finish is 2000 Abralon.
My "vitals" are a 405 rev rate with a PAP of 5 9/16 over and 1/8 up. I drilled the Ruthless with an 85 x 5 ½ x 70 layout. I have used this ball at factory finish and at 4000 Abralon. I have tried the new THS and the new Kegel Tungsten pattern.
This is the "brother" ball to the Flawless that was released earlier this year. This ball has the Juiced Solid cover which does, across both patterns I threw on, allows for more overall motion compared to a Flawless. With the layout I used, the Ruthless allows me to have a more "up the boards" option because of the higher RG/lower diff core. However, the ball does show continuous recovery off of the spot. It is not the strongest ball but it is very predictable and allows me to go straighter on medium volumes/medium/shorter patterns. It is controllable like the Web series but with the higher RG, it goes a little further downlane with a little stronger motion from what I am seeing.
See your local proshop for more information about the new Ruthless by Hammer!
The Ruthless has a very strong arcing motion but yet gets down the lane with ease. If you are looking for a ball that is controllable yet strong in the middle of the lane the Ruthless is the piece you are looking for.
would it help a person with ball speed at11m.to 13mil9/3/2019 - By mike
If your rev rate is lower to match your ball speed then you could use this. However, in most cases if you speed is lower you need a ball to get down the lane better before it reacts. This ball has a duller finish to help the ball read earlier and so it would not usually work well with someone who has a slower ball speed.9/5/2019 - By Bowling.Com Staff
Does the 10 lb ball have a different core?9/6/2019 - By Jan
Yes most bowling balls have to adjust the weight block as you drop in weight so the 10lb ball will not have the same weight block at the higher weights over 14lbs.9/6/2019 - By Bowling.Com Staff
THE HAMMER RUSTHLESS CANT BE POLISH.9/7/2019 - By TOP GUN
You can polish this ball to get more length if you would like but you can also check for a ball that already comes designed to read the lanes later if you need more length. This ball out-of-box would want to read earlier on the lanes with a smooth hook reaction.9/12/2019 - By Bowling.Com Staff
what would be a good ball for someome who throws 14 mph... i throw a 14 pound ball now2/11/2020 - By bob
If you have a high rev rate this ball might work well for you in heavier oil but it would be hard to use in medium to light oil. If you have an average rev rate then this would work well in medium to heavy oil for you and gives an early midlane hook.2/11/2020 - By Bowling.Com Staff
my rate is 10.5 will this ball work for me2/26/2020 - By Hammer Man
If your ball speed in 10.5 mph then this could be hard to use out of the box. This ball is designed to hook earlier so with a lower ball speed it may react too much too early and not have good continuation. You may look for an option that has a pearl coverstock or a polished finish to give you more length.2/28/2020 - By Bowling.Com Staff
Does this ball have a stronger hook than the Brunswick kingpin?3/4/2020 - By Fred
This is rated as a mid performance bowling ball while the Brunswick Kingpin was a high performance ball so the Kingpin would be a stronger hook potential because of this.3/5/2020 - By Bowling.Com Staff
Can I order the Hammer Ruthless in the weight of 10Lbs. 5 oz.3/14/2020 - By Sue
Just below the weight selection box there is a link that says Click to request pin/top weight. When you click this you may type in the box exactly what you are wanting for this ball including the exact weight you would like. So you can select 10lbs in the weight selection box and then type in the specs box that you want the ball to weight 10 lbs 5 oz and we will try to find a match for this.3/17/2020 - By Bowling.Com Staff
