Motiv Iron Forge
Motiv is claiming that the Iron Forge is their strongest pearl symmetric bowling ball to date! This addition to the Forge line of high-performance bowling balls uses the same Detonator core but is wrapped in the successful Infusion MVP Pearl coverstock originally used on the Ripcord Velocity. This core and cover combination produces great angle on medium-heavy oil conditions. The Detonator core has a low RG and high differential which helps create more total hook along with more mid-lane traction and control. The Infusion MVP coverstock responds fast and gives a lot of angle at the backend.

Outstanding reaction down lane
Has amazing backend action and drives through the pocket like a truck. Bumped my average up 10 pins. Excellent ball by Motiv.

Iron Forge Review
The Iron Forge is the strongest symmetric pearl Motiv has ever made. This is the newest addition to the Forge line. The Iron Forge has the Detonator core. The same core as previous Forges. The Iron Forge has the Infusion MVP pearl also used on the Ripcord Velocity. The combination of the two creates amazing angle on medium-heavy oil conditions. This ball will be great when your Jackals are a little to much.

Long live the Iron Forge!
From the great shelf appeal of the colors to the destructive hitting power of the core, this ball is something special!
I'm able to play further right with this on a house shot and not have to worry about the cover burning up in the friction.

Unpredictable
Was looking for a ball to turn to once the normal line breaks down and I have to move way left and throw across the oil in the middle to get down the lane, but with enough turn on the backend not to come in flat. What I got was a ball that was completely unpredictable for those conditions. It would turn early one shot and not at all on the next. Carry down was a big factor that blew up my whole reason for getting the ball.
On fresh lanes, the ball works fine once you find the line, but it did not last long.
I ended up sanding the ball to 500 grit in a last ditch effort to not throw it in the dumpster as a $280 paperweight. The ball was instantly predictable. Took it to nationals instead of throwing it out. Will use it to replace an old solid that is starting to lose its drive.
Customer Questions & Answers | Reviews
Question:
Does it have a generic core at 13 lbs
Have an answer to this question?
Answer:
Motiv uses the same weight block on the different weights. They are one of the only companies that does not change the weight block when you drop below 14lbs.

Question:
Is this a good jump from Columbia 300 beast!?
Have an answer to this question?
Answer:
If you were looking for a 2 ball arsenal then you could use the Iron Forge in medium to heavy oil and then use the Beast in medium to lighter oil and that should work well.

Question:
How does iron forge compare to forge fire
Have an answer to this question?
Answer:
Motiv has a scale they use to help rate each ball and the Iron Forge has Length 16, Backend 18.5, and Hook 57 while the Forge Fire has Length 16, Backend 17.5, and Hook 56. So the Iron Forge has a slightly stronger backend which gives it more overall hook.
