The successful Ebonite Game Breaker line of bowling balls continues with the Game Breaker 2 Gold. This ball was created to cleanly get through the fronts while conserving its powerful and continuous movement for the backend on medium oiled lanes. This is all achieved by covering the Enhanced V2 core with the GB 10.7 Pearl coverstock and finishing it with 1000 grit Abralon and Powerhouse Factory Finish Polish.
The Game Breaker 2 Gold from Ebonite is a pearlized version of the Game Breaker 2, which in my opinion is THE benchmark ball that should be in everybody's bag, the ball that should be the first one on the ball return before you even put your shoes on. This ball is the ideal compliment to its solid shelled companion and is a great match if you have slower ball speed or a higher rev rate which could prevent you from matching up well to equipment with a stronger solid reactive coverstock.
My Game Breaker 2 Gold is drilled exactly the same as the second Game Breaker 2 that I drilled, the pin is about two inches over bridge, CG in grip center with no weighthole and box finish. This layout offers a great compliment to the typical benchmark motion that we're used to seeing out of the Game Breaker 2. If the original Game Breaker 2 is too strong or I need a ball to push through the broken down oil in the heads, the Game Breaker 2 Gold matches up perfectly. One thing I have observed from throwing this ball is that the lower RG rating of the core helps this ball to pick up in the midlane a little stronger than what would be expected with a pearlized coverstock, this gives me a reaction that I would expect more out of a hybrid coverstock than a pure pearl; that being said, if you're looking for this ball to handle drier lanes you should probably look at either the Black/Blue Spike from Hammer or the Deep Freeze from Columbia 300, both have cleaner covers and higher RG values than the Ebonite Game Breaker 2 Gold.
In conclusion, this is another ball in the Ebonite family that promises proven performance with incredible value and I couldn't agree more; cleaner through the fronts than the original Game Breaker 2 while retaining more energy for the backend, this should be a must have ball in everybody's bag.
What can I say about this ball that hasn't been said yet? Anyone who has thrown the original Gamebreaker or the recently released Gamebreaker 2 knows that the ball is truly amazing. Well this one is no different. It uses the same GB 10.7 cover as the original. It compliments the original perfectly as I can pick it up when the GB2 just isn't quite making the turn. I see this being my go to ball when they we start to make their transition and I don't want to have to jump way left too early. Also this ball looks so good going down the lane. The colors are wonderful. Everyone who has a Gamebreaker should have one of these as well.
The Gamebreaker 2 GOLD follows the versatile Gamebreaker 2 with a pearlized coverstock, that is definitely cleaner through the fronts with the same continuous smooth backend motion that you see in the GB2. The GB2 Gold is a perfect complement to the stronger GB2 and for me, this ball replaced 2 of my current Hammer balls (Absolut Flip & Spike Black/Blue). I really enjoy using this ball when the transition starts to take place on the various lane patterns that I have bowled on. This ball is one of the balls that will stay in my tournament bag – so versatile! This ball is perfect for the medium-medium lighter lane patterns.
With the success of the Gamebreaker 2, the GB2 Gold is really a versatile and really plays well for all styles of bowlers. This is one of those balls that you have in the bag for various medium lane patterns and does not provide over/under like most other pearlized balls might have. Very consistent rolling ball – highly recommended!

This ball gets through the fronts very well, but for me, can sometimes be squirty on heavier volumes. However, once the lanes break down a bit, this ball really shines. It has a strong backend finish and has great hitting power. Many shots that looked like they might hit weak carried surprisingly well. The GB2 Gold clears the deck with excellent pin action and carry. The GB2 solid and GB2 Gold make an excellent two ball arsenal that should allow league bowlers to cover most conditions they encounter.
