Description: The Primal Rage Remix is the 5th generation Primal and the strongest to date! It introduces the NEW Raw Fusion Hybrid Reactive Coverstock (Box surface - 4000 Grit LSS). The Primal Rage Remix also shares the same Impulse V2 Symmetric Core as used on the Primal Rage and Primal Scream.
Reaction: The Primal Rage Remix is a ball designed for heavy oil, without having to use an asymmetric core. It's hard to imagine a ball that is angular and designed for heavy oil, in most cases they either are too clean for heavy oil, or they tend to be too strong too early taking away from the point of a faster responding ball made for longer patterns and or more volume. The Primal Rage Remix provides the right strength in the midlane and yet still allowing it to still respond fast enough when it encounters friction.

Comparisons: The Primal Rage Remix is a significantly stronger version of the original Primal Rage. It is stronger in the midlane but, slightly less responsive downlane, probably due to the fact the Primal Rage Remix has more surface on it out of the box. It is very close to being MOTIV's strongest overall hooking ball, however the Jackal is just a little stronger overall. After experimenting and tweaking the surface of the Primal Rage Remix to match the surface of the Jackal I found the Primal Rage Remix to be very similar in overall hook, but the Primal Rage Remix still offered much more shape downlane!
Summary: MOTIV's lineup is currently very complete, but they continue to find ways to fill in the gaps. The Primal Rage Remix is a breath of fresh air for me. When the Primal Rage Remix was released that was all I threw for a long period of time. I think the Primal Rage Remix is going to be a very similar situation.

Stronger than the #REDBALL

The Primal Rage Remix is the big brother to one of the most successful MOTIV balls ever, the Primal Rage #redball. The Remix features the same dual density Impulse V2 core with a new shell called Raw Fusion. The Remix is a much stronger ball in general. It reads the middle of the lane more, and offers more total hook. The Remix does have that same angular, continuous shape that the Rage is known for. I use my Remix when the asymmetric Jackal is too much ball but I cannot ball down to something like the Covert Revolt or Revolt Vengeance. It is a nice option for those speed dominant bowlers out there who have arsenals built around low RG cores. The Remix would be a nice addition as it will not hydroplane and have more lope through the front of the lane. I also feel like the Remix is a good choice for those bowling on some volume who have very heavy, forward ball roll. The Remix won't burn up and stop on you, and will give you some nice motion through the pins. I feel that the Remix offers something unique to the market as it has that high performance ball motion that you'd expect at that price point. However, it doesn't bog down or quit like some balls do the second it sees early friction. I have my Primal Rage Remix drilled 55 x 5 x 30 with no extra hole. I have not altered the surface very much at all. It was a very good match up for me out of the box. Bottom line is if you are looking for a performance piece to use on some heavy volume transition or just want a different look in your bag, then i think the Primal Rage Remix will be a welcome addition.

Question: what hook rateing does this ball have and can you use it on usbc game

5/21/2016 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer: Hello! This ball has a 55 on Motiv's hooking scale, one of the highest on their rating system. It will travel pretty far down the lane and then hook hard on the back end. And yes, it is legal according to USBC standards.

5/24/2016 - By

Question: In comparison to the jackal Carnage, how close is this ball on the back end down lane, because the jackal is awesome on the back end 4 to 6 feet from the pocket.

6/15/2016 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer: The Jackal Carnage was a stronger hooking ball than the Primal Rage Remix but some of that could be due to the Jackal Carnage having the weight block that pushed the limits and got this ball banned. The Primal Rage Remix is actually going to go longer and have a great backend hook but I would expect this to be about 2 boards weaker than the Jackal Carnage was.
