Storm has brought back the Catalyst Core in the Storm Crux Prime high performance bowling ball. This popular core has been known for its unmatched power, increased entry angle, as well as allowing more room for error due to dynamic asymmetrical design and vertical cavity technology. The SPEC coverstock used in this ball stands for Storm Performance Enhanced Coverstock. This special coverstock was specifically designed to endure the friction and oil a bowling ball goes through each time it is thrown down the lane. The SPEC Solid Reactive coverstock used on the Crux Prime is best used on heavier oil conditions and really shines when the lanes start to transition. No matter what lane condition this ball faces it will consistantly read the midlane and store energy for the backend.

I saw this ball at state bowling and wanting to get one for nationals. Very good ball and strong no matter where I place it on the lanes. I dont have to change balls as much in leagues. Got my 1st 300 with it this year. Great ball.

I bought this ball about 4 weeks ago. I just started back bowling 3 months ago. Last week I bowled a 253 which is my highest game yet. Super impressed with this ball.

Bought and drilled ball before league first game of league was a 299 left solid 10pin shot 780 that night next league night shot 279 765 series love the ball only time I don't strike is when I make a bad shot

Bowled two series in league with the Crux Prime... 600 and 669.
It can strike from almost anywhere. Pin carry is significantly
better than my Brunswick Kingpin. This ball needs oil, so as it dries out you have to make
big moves left or switch to something with less hook. I was able to use it all three games and adjust
feet and mark to keep using it. Great ball!

The alpha crux was my favorite ball until now bowled 300 last night 3rd game on the ball this thing hits like a wrecking ball
Attractive, Heavy Mid-lane Roll, New cover allows the ball to go through the pin

The Crux Prime is the latest release in the Premier line. The Prime is wrapped in a brand new storm technology, the SPEC Solid Reactive. The Spec Solid Reactive is designed to give heavy midlane roll for the longer/heavier volume lane conditions. I personally like the Asymmetric bowling balls becuase they help me blend the lane front to back. Sometimes with strong bowling balls like this, they tend to burn up and don't go through the pins very well. The Spec cover on the proven Catalyst Core retains plenty of energy allowing me to split the 8/9 a lot. If you need a ball to combat the heavy volume/longer patterns, this is the ball you've been waiting for! This ball will be better for Rev challenged players and speed dominant players. If you are Rev dominant or throw it slower, I suggest speaking with your PSO before drilling! The comparison I did was betweent the Crux Prime and the Sure Lock. For me they offered similar strength, but the Sure Lock had more pop downlane (Probably because its older). The Crux was much smoother and earlier rolling.
Attractive, Comfortable Grip, Flawless Surface

Strong ball drilled mine pin down 3x4x2 down 14 board out to 9 in the pocket
How do u compare this to the physics. Dies this ball hook more
1/22/2019 - By ChuckThe Storm Crux Prime will hook more than the PhysiX for it has a solid coverstock and is meant for only heavy oil. The Crux Prime will be more aggressive.

2/21/2019 - By Parker B.I have the Crux Prime what balls would you recommend above and below
2/28/2019 - By R JI am not sure there is much that is offered stronger than the Crux Prime. It is high performance and one of the strongest balls on the market. Just below the Crux Prime you could go to an upper mid performance ball that is more suited for medium to heavy oil if you want a small step down or maybe go down to medium oil for a wider range between the two. 2/28/2019 - By Bowling.Com StaffIf I’m looking for a 15.0 in weight, 3-4 pin, is there a way to get those specs
3/1/2019 - By BrianI throw back up and trying to find something with heavy oil. Most of my balls I have or light to medium oil balls. Would the crux prime be a good choice for me? Or is something good in mind for a back up bowler
3/7/2019 - By PhilI have been using a 15lb Storm Match Up which works great on my home lanes (wood) when they are drier but it absolutely skates when they are freshly oiled. I experience the same thing on synthetic lanes. I am an intermediate with a Norm Duke type delivery, would the Crux Prime be too aggressive for me in wet or synthetic conditions? If so what ball would be a step down in aggression?
3/23/2019 - By FloggerThe Storm Crux Prime will be much more aggressive than the Storm Match Up for the Match Up is a mid performance ball and the Crux Prime is a high performance ball meant for heavy lane conditions only. Anything less than the Match Up will be an entry level ball.
3/26/2019 - By Bowling.Com StaffIs this a good ball for dry oil or no?
3/26/2019 - By TylerHad hit it with a 1500 pad. But I think it’s hooking to early. Can I just put a 2000 pad back on it!! Or do I have to go too 500 ist.
3/31/2019 - By ChuckMy average ball speed is 14.5 +/-. Medium rev rate. I'm looking for a Storm ball to move left with and play deep, 3-4 arrows and I can trust will make it back without loosing energy, also get through the heads. Would the Crux Prime be a good ball for me?
4/4/2019 - By CharlieI roll a back up ball at 12 in speed u recommend the Storm Crux Prime I have a problem with heavy oil I roll from the left side of the lane it never to many people bowling from that side my ball weight is 13 lb or can you recommend a ball for heavy oil that I could use
4/7/2019 - By JayHow does this ball compare to the code x
4/17/2019 - By RandyLooks like the only difference between the two will be the lane conditions. The Code X will be for medium-heavy lane conditions and the Storm Crux Prime will be for heavy lane conditions only.

4/22/2019 - By Bowling.Com StaffHow does this ball compare to the drive?
5/1/2019 - By BloomMy daughter is wanting a stronger ball since she will be bowling in Junior Gold next season and will be bowling on different oil patterns. she currently bowls with the DV8 Poison. She does not have alot of revs and rolls the ball about 13.5 MPH. Would this be a good ball for her? She will be using a 14 lb ball.
5/19/2019 - By Bowling DadIs the pro motion better ball then the crux prime. Or are they both top rated balls for leagues
8/10/2019 - By BullI throw a 12 lb. straight ball will this ball be good for me
8/21/2019 - By CarIf you throw straight this ball will go straight. This ball requires the correct spin to hook so if you throw this ball straight it will go straight. You can get a much less expensive ball if you want the ball to go straight. There are straight bowling balls on our website as low as $44.99 at times so I would not recommend this ball if you were just needing a straight ball.
8/21/2019 - By Bowling.Com StaffTell me what's the difference between hybrid and relative coverstock balls compare to uerthian bowls. Hook aggressiveness and power. And lane conditions. Tell what u now on this question.
8/30/2019 - By BullThere are different kinds of reactive coverstocks. Solid reactive coverstocks tend to read the lanes earlier for a more gradual hook. Pearl reactive coverstocks tend to read the lanes later with a more angular hook on the backend. Hybrid coverstocks are a mixture of of solid and pearl coverstocks and read in between what a solid and pearl would do. There are also different levels and strengths to the coverstocks so depending on the performance level of the ball, the reactive coverstock could be stronger or weaker. This ball ( Storm Crux Prime ) is a high performance ball so the Solid Reactive coverstock on this ball is very strong and will hook a lot. But a Solid Reactive on another ball like the Storm Hy-Road X for example is not as strong because it was a mid performance ball. The strength of the ball is also directly related to the lane conditions the ball can hook in. Because the Crux Prime is a very strong ball, it is rated for heavier oil while the weaker Hy-Road X is more designed for medium to lighter oil because it is not as strong. Lastly, urethane coverstocks are not as strong as reactive coverstocks. So most urethane bowling balls will be rated for lighter oil or medium oil and have a lower hook rating in those conditions than a reactive ball would in the same conditions.
9/4/2019 - By Bowling.Com StaffDoes hybrid balls drink oil. Does balls with a hybrid coverstock drink oil
8/31/2019 - By JgdThis ball has a Solid Reactive coverstock and it is a high performance ball. So it will require maintenance to keep the oil from soaking up too quickly into the cover. You will want to wipe the ball off when it comes back through the ball return with a towel and at the end of the night you will want to use a cleaner to clean the ball before you put it up. This will help the ball keep hooking strong for you for a long time.
9/4/2019 - By Bowling.Com StaffWhat would u reactmend on different lane conditions
9/1/2019 - By JdIf I buy the 12 lb Crux, will the ball react the same as if I bought the 15lb? What is the difference in specs with lighter weight
9/17/2019 - By YDBowling9The only difference between the 12lb ball and 15lb ball is the effect the weight block inside has on the performance. A 15lb ball has a RG 2.50 and a RG Dif 0.052. A 12lb ball has a RG 2.59 and a RG Dif 0.029. They have the same coverstock and finish so the difference is in the weight blocks effect.

10/25/2019 - By Bowling.Com StaffHow does the Crux-Prime compare to the Storm's Code Red
10/28/2019 - By DillybarThe biggest difference is that the Crux-Prime is a solid cover with a duller finish which is made to read more in the midlanes with a smooth arc hook. The Code Red was polished to go longer and have more of a backend hook.
10/30/2019 - By Bowling.Com StaffNew to league bowling. I tend to toll with speed and not a lot of rev. Would this ball help with reaction or breaking point? I have been told our lanes are hardest on the coast with heavy oil.
11/1/2019 - By ScottYes, if you have heavier oil conditions and not a lot of revs then a duller high performance ball would be a good option. The duller finish helps the ball to start gripping earlier so with a higher ball speed it helps to get the ball started moving earlier.
11/4/2019 - By Bowling.Com StaffCan I get a strong back end hook if I don’t have a lot of rotation?
11/6/2019 - By JwjThis ball is designed to read the lanes earlier so it has a smoother hook rather than a sharper backend hook. It will read the rotation that you put on the ball and give you as much hook as possible because it has one of the highest hook potentials.
