The V-Strap shoe is an excellent choice for senior bowlers. Why is it not available in higher grade models. I paid a shoe repair shop to put a non skid sole on my right shoe. Left/right styles should be available.

There are a few vent holes in the upper toe area but besides this there are not a lot of vents for this to breathe. There are some other shoes that have more of a cloth or mesh top which are more breathable that you may want to check out but this would be one of the only velcro options available.

Unfortunately I am not sure how well the straps will draw this shoe in. Since it was listed as D width it may be more comfortable to look for a women shoe option which is offered in a standard B width.
