Track Legion Solid

Track has brought back the Legion line of bowling balls to empower its legion of bowlers. The Track Legion Solid ball features the LT-2 core which has a medium RG to produce strong revs for the length of the lane. This core helps conserve the ball's energy for the breakpoint, giving it a powerful entry angle to the pocket. The Legion Solid is covered with the Prime Response Solid for exceptional mid-lane read and response plus a little power down lane.

Track Legion Solid

Track has done well with the design of this piece. It will be a staple in many bags for years to come. The shape it creates reminds me of a slightly more angular Obsession Tour. The core numbers don't say that, but that's what my eyes see. The ball starts to pick up in the mid-lane but saves plenty of punch for down lane too. The ball goes thru the pins very well and when I "grabbed it" it didn't jump and split like some balls might do. More often than not it still struck while tripping a 4 or ripping out a 9. Track has hit 3 homeruns in a row with the Stealth, the Paragon Hybrid, and now the Legion Solid. Time to look at Track.

Same name - different ball

The Track Legion Solid has the same name as an excellent ball from several years ago but make no mistake – this is NOT the same ball! It has more overall motion and is a very versatile solid ball.

The original Legion Solid was a very smooth ball that very much came in handy on more difficult conditions. In the Track line, compared to the new Stealth, I believe the Legion Solid is cleaner and provides more backend motion than the Stealth. Where my Stealth is a “house shot killer” and is super continuous, for me the Legion Solid is more versatile in its lane play. In fact, the ball I would compare it most to would be the DV8 Damn Good Verge.

If you’re in need of versatility on both THS and sport, I would highly recommend the new Track Legion Solid.

Question:

I’m 72 years old I average 170 and I feel like I need a pair of balls that I can average one 180. 185 i’m throwing the Roto grip great but they’re not reacting the way they should be. It’s a Roto grab a lower ball that I picked up because I haven’t bolw and I feel these ball will help me get me to where I want to be in 15 years.

Answer:

I am not familiar with the Roto Grip ball you are mentioning but to give you more details on the Track Legion Solid, it was going to have a pretty strong overall hook potential and works in medium to heavy oil. The ball has a solid coverstock and duller finish so it will read in the midlane and have a smoother arcing hook down the lane. If you are more speed dominant or if you have a lower rev rate this ball could be a good option. If you have a slower ball speed or a higher rev rate this ball may try to hook too much too early for you so you may need to check for something that reacts a little later on the lane. I hope this information helps.

Question:

How does this compare to the Columbia 300 piranha

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

Both are upper mid performance bowling balls with a solid coverstock and 2000 grit finish. However, the Legion Solid may not have as strong of a weight block so it will be just slighter weaker overall than the Piranha (PoweCOR).
