Question:

Can I use this ball after my Storm Phaze 3.

6/4/2020 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

Yes, this will be a good option to move down to from the Phaze 3 as the lane conditions go to lighter oil. This has a pearl cover which will give you a little more length so that would still work well as you go down to lighter conditions.

Question:

How does this compare to the Ebonite Destiny Pearl?

6/16/2020 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

They would be comparable to each other because they are both designed to go longer on medium to lighter oil and have a decent sharp backend hook. The Destiny Pearl weight block is slightly stronger.

Question:

How would this ball compare to the roto grip Purple Hustle

7/3/2020 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

They would be very similar actually. The weight block on the Hustle will go slightly longer but they have essentially the same performance on everything else.

Question:

I throw about 12 mph on shorter oil . Would this b a good ball!

7/23/2020 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

Yes, this ball has a polished finish on a pearl coverstock to help the ball get down the lane well which suites your ball speed. It is also designed to work in lighter oil conditions which would fit your shorter oil patter so this should work well.

Question:

I throw my ball hard. I have a speed of 16. I need my ball to hook quicker. I've tried to slow my speed but that doesn't help. I need it to hook quick. I am a lefty

7/25/2020 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

Unfortunately this option would not be good if you have a high ball speed. You would need a ball with a duller finish out of the box so that the ball can grip better and it would give the ball enough time to grip because a duller ball starts to read the lanes earlier. A good option in the mid performance range that still has a duller finish would be this: https://www.bowling.com/products/roto-grip-mvp-attitude.htm

Question:

How would this ball compare to the Hy-road X

8/26/2020 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

The Hy-Road X will have a solid coverstock which helps the ball read a little earlier and the weight block is stronger on the Hy-Road X to give it a little more hook potential. The Electrify Pearl will read longer on the lanes and have a sharper backend hook.

How would this ball compare to the Hy-road X

8/27/2020 - By

The Hy-Road X will have a stronger hook potential and the solid cover on the Hy-Road X will help it react a little earlier on the lanes than the pearl cover on the Electrify Pearl.

Question:

I'm looking for a ball that will help me get through burned up lanes while in a tournament. I was looking into the Hustle 3TP or the Storm Electrify Pearl but I don't know what to purchase. I am a high rev playher with a high ball speed and i really want something that will get down the lane and read off the backend

9/7/2020 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

Both balls would be very comparable and work well in lighter conditions. Since you rev rate and ball speed are both higher you should be fine with either option if you need something to get down the lanes and have a sharp backend in lighter oil. The next option down would be something like a Tropical Surge or even down to something like the Mix if the lanes are very dry.

Question:

How would this compare to the old hot rod?

9/17/2020 - By

This would be very comparable to the Hot Rod. Both have a pearl coverstock with a 1500 grit polished finish and the RG number produced by the weight block are very similar.

Question:

I am buying my daughter her first ball. She is a lefty and has pretty good form. Her ball speed is fast so I was thinking this may be a good one for her to start with. What do you recommend?

11/5/2020 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

If she is lefty and has a pretty fast speed then you may want to go to something with a little earlier grip on the lanes. This ball reads very late on the on the lanes so it may not have much time to react with a higher ball speed. Also left handed bowlers tend to have a little more oil on the left side of the lanes so you may look at something like the Storm All-Road. You could also go with this ball and maybe resurface the finish to something a little duller like 3000 grit.

Question:

How would this compare to the Hammer Pink Black Widow?Stormin

11/15/2020 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

The Hammer Black Widow Pink was an upper mid performance ball and it would have a stronger hook potential than the Storm Electrify Pearl which was a mid performance ball. Because the Widow Pink was stronger it would be more for medium to heavy oil while the Electrify Pearl would be more for medium to light oil.

How does this compare to the Hy-road X???

11/28/2020 - By

The Hy-Road X will be a little stronger overall hook and it will read a little earlier because it has a solid coverstock versus the pearl cover on the Electrify Pearl.

Question:

Its asking for a pin and top weight request. What does that mean and do i need to put something? Will it change the ball?

11/28/2020 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

If you know what pin and top weight to request for you may enter this request in. This can help ensure that the ball will give you a certain drilling layout if you know beforehand which drilling layout you want. You could ask your local proshop what pin and top weight you need to request so that they can drill the ball to your specifications. If you do not request this the ball will still come with a first quality set of specs and have multiple drilling layout options but it may not have one exact option that you wanted so if you need a specific layout make sure you enter the specs needed to get that layout.

Question:

How does this compare to the Motiv Primal Rage?

1/15/2021 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

The Motiv Primal Rage was a high performance ball with a pearl cover and polished finished designed for medium to heavy oil. This Electrify Pearl is a mid performance ball with a pearl cover and polished finish designed for medium to lighter oil. Because the Electrify is not as high performance as the Primal Rage, it does not have as high of a hook potential and therefor cannot handle as much oil. When used in their designated lane conditions, they will have similar length and both have a good backend hook.

Question:

I bought an Axiom and can’t control the back end hook because I can’t play long enough. I’m often hitting Brooklyn or missing the head entirely if I miss a little left. Would this help my from hooking past the head pin?

2/4/2021 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

Yes, this would be a good option that will have less hook potential than the Axiom but this ball also reacts later on the lane which will hopefully keep the ball from hitting Brooklyn or cutting in front of the head pin.

Question:

how would this ball compare to the Storm Phaze lll

2/19/2021 - By

Have an answer to this question?

The Phaze III will have a stronger hook potential and also will read the lanes just slightly earlier than the Electrify Pearl. The Phaze III is more for medium oil while the Electrify Pearl is more for medium to lighter oil.

Question:

This ball good on med/hvy oil .can I shoot 7 /10 pin Wth it

2/27/2021 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

This ball would not have much hook potential in medium-heavy oil because it is rated more for medium to lighter oil. In medium to heavy oil you may be able to keep it straight enough for spares but it will still have some hook right at the end so I would go with a plastic ball for corner pins.

Question:

I roll a 14 pound ball and have a slower speed of 10 to 11 mph would this be a good ball for me and I have only been bowling for 2 years

3/9/2021 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

Yes, the pearl coverstock and the polished finish will help the ball get down the lane before it hooks which will be a good option if you have a slower ball speed. This also works in medium to lighter oil conditions which would cover most of your typical lane conditions.

Question:

How would I get it drilled without being sized

4/4/2021 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

The only way for us to do the drilling would be for you to provide us with your measurements. You can get your measurements from a proshop or from a previous drill sheet if you have had another ball drilled. If you do not know your measurements or have a previous drill sheet then we would suggest getting the ball drilled locally so a driller can measure you in person and get accurate measurements.

Question:

I use a 15-lb Match (1500 polish) for our normal fun league nights (I roll in the low to mid 13s) but need something with more down lane and less hook for when the lanes dry out as the Match reads too early and hooks more under those conditions. Is the Electrify a good choice?

4/5/2021 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

The Electrify series came in to replace the Match series when the Match series was discontinued. So the Electrify would not really give you much more length or work better in lighter oil than the Match. You could try the Storm Tropical series which will be a little weaker than the Match and Electrify. Also, the Mix might work well in really dry conditions if you need something even weaker.

Question:

I have Storm Electrify pearl ball ..my speed is low...I would like to play more right ...should I shine the ball more

4/16/2021 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

The ball will come out of the box with a 1500-grit Polished finish. You can add more polish to this to get a little more length out of it. The lanes may be a little drier the closer you get to the gutter so if you try to play further out the ball may want to react a little earlier or a little stronger.

Question:

Would this be a good ball to start off with

4/29/2021 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

This would not be a bad option for someone getting their first performance ball. We do have the Storm Tropical Surge line which is considered the entry performance ball for beginners but this is one step above that and will give you a little stronger hook potential than the Surge line. However, this is not going to be too strong for someone to get use to.

Question:

If starting with a Proton Physix on fresh oil, I'm considering this ball to come in during the breakdown for later in league to get a full range of heavy to medium then medium to dry out of just two balls. In that scenario, would the Electrify Pearl be a better option than the Phaze 3?

8/4/2021 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

There will be a pretty big jump going from the Proton Physix down to the Electrify Pearl. So you may struggle in your middle games making that transition and then the Electrify would work well when you get into the lighter oil. The Phaze 3 is a great ball that you could use right after the Proton Physix and not see as big of a drop off but then as you get into lighter oil on your last games it could be harder to control. It would be ideal to maybe have 3 bowling balls in that case but if you needed just 2 bowling balls you may could work with the Electrify Pearl and just make the adjustments to use your Proton a little later and switch to the Electrify a little earlier.

8/27/2021 - By

Question:

Can I have this ball drilled to go straight and not hook ?

10/16/2021 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

There are some drilling options that have a weaker hook potential. The ball will not hook by itself and requires you to spin it to hook so if you throw this straight it will go straight.

10/19/2021 - By

Question:

I’ve never bought ball through the Mail. How do I get a ball drilled

5/17/2022 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

We offer a custom drilling option on this ball for an additional fee but the only way we can do the drilling is if you have the measurements from a previous ball or drill sheet. You would use those measurements to fill out our drill sheet and we can then drill the ball to match what you enter. If you do not know the measurements then you would want to decline our drilling so that you can take the ball to your local proshop where they will measure and drill the ball for you. Most people do not have their measurements so this is the more common option.

Question:

How would this ball compare to the Rhino Magenta. I have a low ball speed of 9-10

10/26/2022 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

This would be a very close comparison. The RG values are very similar on the Electrify Pearl and Rhino line. The coverstock and finish will also be very comparable and both bowling balls give you good length and decent backend hook in lighter oil conditions. This length would be good for your ball speed so the ball would not react too early on the lane. You may get a slightly stronger reaction on the Electrify Pearl with it being a mid performance and the Rhino being entry level.

I currently have a 14 pound phaze 3. I throw between 13-15 mph with revs on the lower side, would this be too fast for the ball

10/31/2022 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

The Electrify Pearl is designed to go longer than the Phaze 3 and this helps it work better in lighter oil conditions. So if you use this ball in lighter oil this would be a great option. If you use this in medium to heavy oil then it would likely not be able to grip much and would skid more and not come back.
