DV8 Activ8 Hybrid
The DV8 Activ8 is a mid-performance ball with a symmetric core and hybrid coverstock. The Activ8 core works with the Composite Fang Hybrid Reactive coverstock to give this ball great length and a flip reaction on the backend when faced with lanes that have broken down. This ball is a great option for high-rev or 2-hand bowlers.

I bought this to compliment my stronger balls but get more length on burnt lanes. It has not let me down yet. First 6 balls were pocket strikes. Then I put it down

Length with flip for medium patterns
PAP: 5 7/8 RT x 2 1/4 DN
No-thumb, one league per week, tournaments when I can. Tremendous slouch.
Length with flip for light to medium volume patterns.
DV8 is primed and ready for a big year! Hell Raiser Return and Damn Good Verge have been great performers and have turned some heads already. The new mid-performance Activ8 will carry on what these two balls have started for the brand this year. Activ8 looks fantastic; it's a shiny ball with a new symmetric core and uses the proven Composite Fang cover stock but in a hybrid version. This will work great when the lanes break down and incredibly well for high-rev and 2-hand players.
The Activ8 has an out of box surface of 500/1000/1500 and then finished off with Crown Factory Polish. DV8 intends this ball to have length with flip and to be most useful on light to medium volume of oil or when the lanes break down and I used one of my favorite layouts for symmetrical core (55x4x25 for all-purpose) to help further achieve that. I’ve only rolled the Activ8 on a burnt 42’ sport shot and on a fresh 2010 USBC OC pattern so far. On the burnt sport shot I had to stand deep inside and play a big sweeping hook and on the OC pattern I was playing more up the boards with the breakpoint being around the 5 board and I really liked the way it went through the pins. It makes me excited to finally see what this ball will do on a house pattern.
I’ve never purchased a ball based on it’s color scheme but the Black/Silver/Purple really does look cool sitting on the shelf of a pro shop, on the ball rack and especially going down the lane and crushing through the pins. There seems to be something special about bowling balls that are purple and the Activ8 hasn’t disappointed in it’s motion yet.
Consider this an upgrade over the Turmoil Hybrid that was released a couple of years ago with it’s stronger cover and updated core. The Activ8 is another ball from DV8 Bowling that has exceptional performance at an affordable price point.
Be well, rip racks ...and shred pins.
