What is the difference between the idol pearl and the iq emerald?

9/5/2019 - By

The weight blocks seem to be the biggest difference. The Idol Pearl has a stronger weight block and it can handle a little more oil because of the weight block making the ball stronger. The Emerald is more designed for medium oil.

Question:

What's the difference between this ball and super soniq? is it just that the coverstocks are different?

12/5/2019 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

The coverstock and finish are different and this can make a lot of difference. The Super Son!Q is designed to read earlier on the lanes and can also handle heavier oil better while the Emerald is designed to go longer with a more angular backend and it works well in medium oil.

Question:

Would this act like a roto grip shatter ball

12/16/2019 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

The IQ Tour Emerald would actually go down the lane a little further but has a stronger backend hook than the Shatter. This also makes the IQ handle medium oil mostly while the Shatter was originally for medium to lighter oil.

Question:

What is the difference between the tour fusion and the tour emerald?

2/7/2020 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

The only difference is the coverstock. The cover on the Fusion was a R2S Hybrid and the cover on the Emerald is an R2S Pearl. The Emerald will go a little longer on the lane but the Fusion will be a little stronger over all and this makes the Fusion more suited for medium - heavy oil while the Emerald is better for medium only.

Question:

Can I used this bowling ball after my phase 3

5/27/2020 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

This would be very similar to the Phaze 3 and only be just slightly less hook potential so you may could use this after the Phaze 3 but it would not be long before you had to switch again to something less aggressive.

What would you recommend. For heavy oil and being a lefty?

Answer:

The IQ Tour Emerald would be more suited for medium oil but if you wanted something for heavier oil you could try the Omega Crux or the AstroPhysix which are also pearl coverstocks to give you good length but still enough to work in heavier oil.

Question:

Would this be a good ball for a senior changing from a conventional grip to a finger tip grip

10/28/2020 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

Most proshops would recommend finger tip drilling on any performance ball. This ball does have good length so if changing to the finger tip grip slows down your ball speed, this could be a good option to break later on the lanes.

Question:

Is this ball good if I have low rev rates?

12/13/2020 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

If you have a high ball speed and low revs then you would not want this ball. It is designed to read later on the lanes so low revs and high ball speed will not give the ball much time to react. However, if you have an average to lower ball speed this could work fine. It is rated for medium oil but with lower revs you could use this down into some lighter oil conditions also.
