900Global Ordnance C4

The Ordnance C4 hybrid reactive mid-performance bowling ball features the Shrapnel 2.0 core combined with the S70 Hybrid coverstock which is equal parts solid and pearl. The coverstock is finished with a 4000 grit Abralon pad which provides a clean reaction down the front of the lane. The pearl and solid combination also generates ideal length and backend when facing medium oil conditions. The Shrapnel 2.0 is a wider version of the original Shrapnel core. This change increased the RG while keeping the differential low.

Benchmark ball indeed!

This ball is going to be one the 1st ones out of my bag. This ball is SO NICE. its really easy to read the mid lane reaction all the way to the back end reaction. If there is more oil, start with the Aspect then change when the time is right. And you will have a great reaction to follow another benchmark ball.
Its was a great purchase!

The Ordnance C4 = "Benchmark at its best"

With the release of Ordnance C4, 900 Global has once again hit their target with this "benchmark" ball. Out the box, this ball was consistency at its best. Let's take a closer look.
The Shrapnel 2.0 core is a nice upgrade from the original Shrapnel. I found the wider core gave the Ordnance C4 a smooth, predictable motion throughout the lane and a well-defined turn off the pattern. Higher speed/lower rev players like me will enjoy the hard-rolling force that the C4 brings. This ball builds great momentum that generates a strong impact at the pocket. Further its vibrant continuation through the deck leaves no prisoners standing! If you tend to "hit them thin and watch them spin" you will seriously appreciate the dancing pin action the Ordnance C4 creates.
The S70 Hybrid coverstock was clearly the right choice for the Ordnance C4. For me, as a higher speed, straighter player, the Hybrid coverstock gave me a wider traction that was consistent and controllable. On a THS, I took the cover down to 2000 grit where the C4 provided a much welcomed wider "miss margin" of error. Further, I enjoyed the comfort of the broader entry angle the Ordnance C4 delivered. On a fresh Medium Challenge Pattern, the Ordnance C4 performed cleanly with a dependable motion. With 1500 grit, the Ordnance C4 read the heavier oil with a smooth consistency and a clean distinct arc off the pattern. Hybrid covers generally work the best for my game and the S70 Hybrid certainly rises to the cream of the crop!
My closing thought of the Ordnance C4 by 900 Global - this is clearly the "benchmark" ball of choice! It is dependable and consistent on a THS and medium oil volumes. The Ordnance C4 is the new "go to ball" in your bag. Visit your local pro shop operator to have yours drilled today! Go Global!

Question:

How is this similar to the IQ tour edition?

6/16/2021 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

They are going to be pretty close in over all performance actually. The Ordnance is on the higher side of a mid performance ball while the IQ Tour is on the lower side of an upper mid performance. Both balls have a 4000 grit finish out of the box so they will ready pretty similar lengths with a the Ordnance maybe going a little longer because it has a hybrid cover versus the solid cover on the IQ Tour. This will help the IQ Tour to handle just a little more oil but a lot of the other features are very similar so they are going to be very comparable.

Question:

How is this compare to the melee jab blood red?

7/19/2021 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

There are a few key differences between these two options. The Ordnance C4 is a mid performance ball designed for medium oil while the Melee Jab Blood Red is an upper mid performance ball for medium to heavy oil. Also the Ordnance C4 has a hybrid cover and 4000 grit finish which will read the lanes a little earlier and have a smoother hook than the Melee Jab Blood Red which had a pearl cover and polished finish.

Question:

How does this ball compare to the 900 Global Compass? I love the S70 hybrid cover stock, and want a ball that has a lot of length and late breakpoint.

9/27/2021 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

I am having trouble finding details for a Compass but this ball will have decent length. The 4000 grit finish reads a little earlier than if this was polished and a hybrid cover will read earlier than a pearl cover so if you are looking for more length you may prefer a polished finish and/or a pearl coverstock.
