My grandson just moved up to Size 7 men's shoes, he tried on a rental size 7 and has about an inch from toe. He outgrew his hiking boots in a years time, if I were to get him a 7-1/2, would that be too large? He's 13 and in 8th grade and is going to start Youth USBC high school bowling in the fall. Thanks.

The shoe size question is one that we often get but unfortunately it is not one that we can give a definite answer on. We do have some reviews for Brunswick shoes where customers say it runs big and we have heard from some bowlers that it runs small compared to their other shoes. For the large majority of people that get this shoe they stick with the first size and so we do not advertise that it runs small or large because we do not have enough feedback one way to determine if it is large or small. I would suggest to get your normal shoe size and also consider the True Fit Guarantee which would cover your exchange expenses to get the next size up or down on this if the first size did not fit. I am sorry I could not give a more definitive answer on this.

The shoe is universal so it has slides on both feet. This would not have a lot of grip due to both feet having slides. If you need something with more grip you may want to get a shoe that is specifically right handed if you are right handed or specifically left handed if you are left handed.
