Great first ball

I very recently started taking bowling a little more seriously and decided to get my first ball. This is a great option for every reason. It's adorable compared to other balls, all the color options are great (I parsonage went with the black/ blue/ silver). I love how I'm able to control if I want to hook it more or less. Definitely has some hook if needed, and is for sure a little bit more than just an entry level ball. If you bowl straight, get a cheaper ball instead, but if you're learning how to hook the ball or need a ball that doesn't hook quite as much as the expensive balls, this is perfect.

Great Spare Ball

Brunswick Rhino is a great spare ball. It also has good action if you wanted to use it as a strike ball too. Consistent roll. Used it in my league for the 1st time last night and picked up all 13 of my spare opportunities. Black/Blue/Silver color combination is sharp looking.

Great Bowling Ball!

I was just beginning how to bowl about 3 years ago. Decided to purchase this bowling ball, and did not regret it. Someone in the reviews said "don't listen to that entry-level stuff," and that is absolutely correct! This ball moves just fine. I've had instances where I throw it down the lane and think it's headed right towards the gutter, but at the last second breaks right into the pocket. 10/10 recommend!

Love It! Buy it!

I loved it as soon as it left my hand! It's a perfect ball I haven't been bowling long but this ball is everything you want and more for the money. Listen to the guy above me!

Excellent Value

I'm a senior returning to bowling after a retirement of several years. I had used a Rhino in the past, so this was pretty much a no brainer. Don't listen to that entry level stuff, I've been bowling for 50 years and I know a performance ball when I roll it. This ball has plenty of smooth controllable hook, and it never over reacts. I only use one ball, and the Rhino is that ball. It works on the oil, it loves the dry, and is perfect for spares.

Great for a beginner

After researching numerous balls, I decided on the Rhino as my first ball. I choose it due to its versatility and potential for a beginner. It does exactly what it says it will. Started learning how to throw a hook and it breaks nicely later down the lane. Bowled my highest game today of 187. If you're looking for a great entry level ball, the Rhino is definitely the ball for you.

Talk about bang for your buck!!

Threw this ball for the first time and WOW.. Ball is drilled pin above the ring finger. Threw it on a house pattern and this ball reacted amazing playing down the boards 10 out 7 and this Rhino walks right into the pocket. Right when I was expecting it to jump through the nose, it doesn't! Smooth reaction, not jerky. This ball is great for the down and in player and will be great on tournament patterns later on as well when the lanes start to dry up. For the price, you can't go wrong with the Rhino!

I am looking for a good spare ball, is this a good one?

8/16/2019 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

This ball is designed to be an entry performance ball so it has hook potential on lighter oil conditions. Most people prefer their spare ball to go as straight as possible so there are better priced options that just go straight like the Brunswick TZone. But if you want your spare ball to have a little bit of hook potential then this could work possibly for you.

The drilling protection option is to cover you when you take the ball to have it drilled locally. You may click the "?" beside the drilling protection to see more about what this covers.

RHINO BALL IS 13LB HAVE THE SAME CORE AS THE 15LB BALL

2/16/2020 - By

Yes, the 12-16lb ball has the light bulb core and the 10 and 11lb removes that light bulb core.

Question:

can you drill holes for only two finger? I throw two handed

3/6/2020 - By

Have an answer to this question?

We can do the two finger drilling but you will need to make sure you mention this when you place the order in the customer comments. If it is not mentioned then the ball will have the standard 3 finger drilling layout.

3/10/2020 - By Bowling.Com Staff

Question:

Does having a light bulb core better than having a remove light bulb core? Cause I use a 11lb ball.

3/6/2020 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

The weight block does help give the ball more hook potential when compared to the ball that does not have performance weight block. However, the coverstock will still give you some hook potential in 11lbs for this ball.

3/10/2020 - By Bowling.Com Staff

Question:

Does this ball hook much?

2/4/2021 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

This ball is considered an entry performance ball and will have hook potential on lighter oil conditions. Compared to other performance balls this ball will not have a high hook potential. However, compared to a house ball or straight ball this will have a decent hook potential when you bowl in lighter oil.

2/5/2021 - By Bowling.Com Staff

Question:

I currently throw a 15 lb ball I’m getting older and thinking of throwing a 13 lb ball. Will that hurt my striking ability.

10/27/2021 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

Dropping 1lb you would not see a large difference in performance but dropping 2lbs it will be a more significant difference. You may need to create more entry angle into the pocket to get a 13lb ball to drive through the pins like a 15lb ball does so you may have to make some adjustments but you can still get good reaction on a 13lb.

11/5/2021 - By Bowling.Com Staff

Question:

What happens when to remove the polish on a Rhino ball

12/23/2021 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

If you were to refinish the ball with a duller finish then the ball would read earlier on the lanes and have a smoother arcing hook instead of a sharper backend. The ball initially works well in lighter oil but if you dull the cover down it may need a little more oil for it to read the lanes correctly.

12/30/2021 - By Bowling.Com Staff

Question:

2/25/2022 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

This ball has a reactive resin coverstock and this will help to give the ball hook potential.
