Pros:

yellow dot wannabe

Cons:

none

Best Uses:

casual bowling

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

just right

I love my yellow dot ! Too bad Columbia decided "NOT" to still make it, but it's what it is. To my surprise, I read where someone compared the spy to the yellow dot and my eyes lit up. A hard "plastic" ball with a core, imagine that. I roll my ole bleeder a little less than 10 mph with a steady slow hook hits harder than any other ball I have. I'm no fan of these "pearl" balls, I just like plastic, they take a beatin and keep on tickin..
I gave 5 stars because I'm addin a new 16# yellow dot wannabe to my lineup.

Pros:

Best plastic ball with a core, it's a keeper.

Cons:

I have to use a t-zone to pick up a 10 pin.

Best Uses:

Actually acts a lot like a urethane ball.

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

The Spy

This ball is great on medium dry to dry lanes. Has a lot of hitting power, very little or no deflection. Not your typical plastic. I have bought one for my husband also, he was very surprised with this ball, it's now in his bag.

Great Ball for Dry Lanes...Another one will be ordered

Used this ball for the first time over the 4th of July Holiday, when I new the lanes would be a little burnt. I started with the Desert Tank and had to stand 25 and eventually 28 to get to the pocket. It hit and produced a duece as expected. (Ball speed 14-15 mph) After two games, I switched to The Spy and ended up moving my feet 10-12 boards to the right to find the right line. It was amazing and great to be able to play the lanes just about straight up the board and have The Spy roll up and hit hard. This ball reminds me of a Columbia Yellow Dot, but hits so much harder. I may sand it to 2000, but then again I may not...Great option for dry lanes when you want to play straighter. Definitely hope the cover lasts much longer than the 1 year warranty as this will be getting quite a bit of lane time in practice and league.

Perfect Ball for Extra Dry Lanes

Bowler Stats: PAP 4 over 3/4 up, 18 degrees tilt, 275 revs, 14.5 mph

The Spy is designed for very light oil conditions and is the perfect choice to ball down to if your Counter Attacks are hooking too much or to start with if you know you will be on a light oil pattern. I drilled mine 45x4.25x30. If you are a low-speed player and dealing with dry lanes and everything is hooking too much, this would be a great addition as it will not be jumpy on the backend like even the least hooking pearl ball can be, and it will still give you plenty of length through the fronts. Higher rev players will have no problem making this ball move on a fresh house shot, whereas I did need to add some surface to get what movement I did. This a great ball to add to your arsenal if you are looking to keep your angles closed on dry lanes or to an extent, a fresh light-medium pattern depending on your rev rate.

Pros:

As Advertise

Cons:

If you are looking for a lot of hook this isnt it

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I SPY with my eye

The Spy is as advertised. It is a spare ball with a little punch. I drilled mine 50x 3 3/4x25 This layout gave me about 6.5’ of track flare. I was able to play in the dry in the out of box condition and it hook and hit with the authority of an asymmetrical. I sanded it to 1000 grit and I needed to move in a bit and it still hit. I intend to use this ball to practice with. It will force me to make quality shot in order to have it hit. It will refine my focus.

Question:

does this ball come in 12 lbs

5/17/2022 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

They do not make this ball in a lighter weight unfortunately. The key features is the asymmetric weight block in this spare ball and they rarely make the higher performance weight blocks to work in 12 or 13lb weight bowling balls.

Question:

have his ball in 14 4oz?

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

We are not able to see the exact weights in stock before an order is placed. However, if you select 14lbs you can add a comment on the final review page of the checkout and request for the exact weight you want the ball to be. If you do not request the exact weight then the ball could come within a few ounces of 14lbs.
