If you purchase this ball your going to love it. ball reacts just how you throw it, rolls heavy not much skid out of the box, but it finishes strong. If you have high revs you need it polished like i said it won't skid a lot, but all in all its a good ball for a person looking to learn how to hook the ball, plus for a person who knows how to hook the ball.

If you are looking at entry level balls, any of the entry level balls would do just fine. If you need something stronger, you could go to Mid Performance balls. The most popular line would be the Columbia Nitrous line.

Yes, this ball will still have the performance coverstock to help it have a slight hook. It will still be better than a plastic or spare ball because of the coverstock alone.

If you throw this ball straight without any revs or rotation to help it hook then it will go straight. If you spin the ball and get revs on the ball then it would hook in lighter oil conditions.

This would not be ideal to pick up 10 pin spares because this ball will have some hook potential. You may prefer to get a plastic/polyester ball which is better designed to go straight and will be easier to get 10 pin spares.

There shoe be a size chart if you click the "?" beside the drilling option. The span is the distance between the finger holes and thumb and the finger hole sizes are the width of the holes so you can measure how wide your fingers are at the widest point.

This ball was a good option for lighter oil conditions and was considered an entry performance ball. A good step up would be a ball that is a mid performance ball for medium oil.
