Question:

How would this ball compare to phaze 3 .would it be similar to motiv forge fire

12/30/2019 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

This is going to be stronger than the Phaze 3 and it would react earlier on the lanes than the Phaze 3. This will also be a little stronger and earlier than the Forge Fire but they are a closer comparison because they are both considered high performance.

Question:

How would this compare to the No Rules Pearl?

1/14/2020 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

The UFO is designed to read the lanes earlier so the hook will be a smoother arc hook down the lane. The No Rules Pearl was designed to go long and then have a sharp backend hook at the end. So that was the biggest difference but both balls are high performance and work in heavier lane conditions.

Question:

How would this ball compare to my halo

1/17/2020 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

The UFO has a newer and stronger cover than the Halo and the weight block is also a little stronger too so that would give you a little stronger hook potential on the UFO compared to the Halo. They do have a similar midlane hook reaction because they have the same finish out of the box.

Question:

How is this ball compared to the “halo” and also crux prime? Thank you.

The UFO has a newer and stronger cover than the Halo and the weight block is also a little stronger too so that would give you a little stronger hook potential on the UFO compared to the Halo. They do have a similar midlane hook reaction because they have the same finish out of the box. I would also give the UFO a slightly stronger hook potential than the Crux Prime because it has a little stronger weight block and with the newer cover it will likely give you a slightly stronger hook potential.

Question:

I’m low rev bowler, having trouble with my code black on slick lanes will this help

1/24/2020 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

The Code Black would have a polished finish out of the box so in really oily conditions it may skid too far on and not come back strong enough but the Roto Grip UFO has a duller finish which helps the ball grip in heavier oil and it can start hooking earlier on the lanes so you should be able to get more movement on this ball and then you can maybe have the Code Black as a back up for when the UFO gets too aggressive on the lanes.

Question:

How does this compare to the Physis

2/1/2020 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

The UFO will start to react a little earlier on the lanes due to the duller 2000 grit finish and solid cover compared to the Physix which was a 3000 grit finished hybrid cover. They are both going to have a strong midlane reaction and good continuation.

Question:

I bought a hyper cell about a year and a half ago. it worked fantastic until the lanes i bowl on started using a different kind of lubricate on the lanes. my ball doesn't even react anymore. can i use the new UFO to create movement for me on the new lubricate? and if so how do I have it drilled??

2/3/2020 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

It is hard to say how much stronger this would be compared to your Hyper Cell because the Hyper Cell may be weaker now after a year and half of using it. Over time the balls will load up with oil and lose some of their hook so part of the reason that the Hyper Cell is not hooking much could be because of this. The UFO is one of the strongest balls Roto Grip has made to day so it should work in heavier oil if you see a lot of oil. You can ask your driller to give you most aggressive layout for this so that it gives you the best hook potential.

Question:

How does this ball compare to the idol ?

2/20/2020 - By

Have an answer to this question?

The UFO is a high performance ball so it will have a stronger hook potential than the Idol which is an upper mid performance. Also the UFO works better in heavier conditions while the Idol can work down into medium oil and in some heavy oil.

What ball is going to have more hook the Halo or the UFO? I have a Halo and really like it.

4/30/2020 - By

Have an answer to this question?

The UFO is the newer release so it may have a very small amount more of hook potential but it is not much. They are very very similar in almost every way but the UFO may have a little more length.

Question:

how about this for a 3 ball arsenal. i bowl on fresh THS stroker style.FIRST BALL OUT IS UFO THEN OMEGA CRUX THEN ASTRO PHSIX .. DO YOU THINK ANY OF THESE ARE TO SIMILAR TO EACH OTHER ? I feel I will get a different angle to the pocket with each one. thanks for your input

5/20/2020 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

There are some differences in the bowling balls which give them different reads on the lanes. However, they are all high performance balls and require heavier oil to work correctly. The AstroPhysix can work down into some medium oil but it will be very strong on medium oil so you may need to mix in some options that are designed for medium or medium to lighter oil in case the lanes start to dry out by the end of the night. Also, you may have to drop to an upper mid performance or mid performance to be able to get a ball for lighter oil because most high performance balls need more oil to work correctly.

Question:

Can UFO be polished

8/29/2020 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

Yes, if you needed more length you could polish the UFO and it would react later on the lanes. The duller finish helped this handle heavier oil better so if you add polish it may not handle as heavy of oil but it would work well in medium-heavy.

Question:

How does the UFO compare to the RG Critical Theory? I know old ball but still use it, still have good reaction.

3/25/2021 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

The Critical Theory had a pearl coverstock and a smoother finish to help give it more length while the UFO is a solid cover with a duller finish to help it start reading more in the midlane and give it a smoother arcing hook.

Question:

I throw the ball between 13-14 mph. I am now using a GB2. I am looking for another ball. How does this compare?

4/18/2021 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

The UFO is a high performance ball designed to work in medium to heavier oil but it will have a stronger hook potential than the GameBreaker 2. The Game Breaker 2 was a mid performance ball so it will not have as much hook potential. They do have similar length because both balls were a solid coverstock and a duller finish.
