Storm Summit

The Storm Summit is designed to help bowlers reach the peak of their performance. This upper-mid performance bowling ball introduces the bowling world to the TX-23 Hybrid Reactive coverstock and the Centripetal HD-A.I. weight block. The TX-23 Hybrid Reactive coverstock is a modified version of the successful TX-16 coverstock to give more grip on slick oil conditions. The core is the proven Centripetal HD that has been paired with A.I. (Amplified Inertia) outer core. The result is a lower RG and a higher differential making this Storm's strongest symmetric bowling ball so far.

Great piece

Over all I love it, continues thru the pocket and has great carry. I'm drilled thru the pin and I'm a stroker up the 8 board with a 205 avg.

Storm Summit

The new ball in the Storm family is the Summit. The Summit has the TX-23 hybrid cover wrapped around the modified Centripetal HD core. Centripetal HD weight block is surrounded by the ALL-NEW A.I. (Amplified Inertia) outer core.
Shout out to Hank Boomershine, Alex Hoskins and R/D team at Storm for raising the bar in bowling ball technology. I drilled my Summit 4 3/4 x 4 1/2 x 1. I went with a shorter pin buffer to help the response down lane. Lets just say this ball is very strong for a symmetrical. I put a little step 2 on mine and bowled on 45ft Dick Weber pattern, The summit allowed me to control the pocket, and carry well. Its very hard to throw the Summit through the breakpoint which is a good feeling. The Summit is just different especially on off hits. Even since I switched to 14lb because of a bad knee, usually I like to throw the bigger asymmetricals but the Summit is plenty strong enough to go through the pins. I have the summit stronger than the Phaze 2 and below the bigger balls like a RG Gem, Global Reality. If your looking for a strong rolling symmetrical that carries real well the Summit is your ball!

Question:

is this ball maybe part axiom and part axiom pearl ? thanks for your help

7/15/2023 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

While length wise this ball does have a hybrid coverstock which will read somewhat between a solid and pearl coverstock it does have different features than the Axiom series including a different weight block which is designed to have more flare potential than the Axiom. The duller finish will help this read slightly close to the Axiom (solid) in length.

Question:

what would be a good ball to transition to when this ball is hooking too much as the lanes transition?

7/18/2023 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

The Storm Hy-Road Pearl would be a great transition ball as you get down into more medium oil to lighter oil conditions. Another option could be the Storm IQ Tour Ruby.

Question:

I haven’t bought a ball or bowled regularly in 30 years but want to start again. Now to test your knowledge. I’m looking for something comparable in reaction to the old Columbia Yellow Dot. What do you suggest?

7/23/2023 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

There have been a lot of changes and advances made in bowling balls since the older Columbia Yellow Dot was around. A higher performance ball from that long ago would likely be closer to more of a mid performance ball today because the balls have a lot more hook potential. This Summit will have a much stronger hook potential and works best in medium to heavy oil conditions. This would be ideal if you were in a league for the first game or two of leagues. However, you may prefer something a little less aggressive that can work more in medium or even some lighter conditions so something a little closer to the Yellow Dot would be something like a Storm Electrify G/O or Storm Electrify B/S/Y. I hope this helps!

Question:

How would this compare with the Storm Absolute?

8/17/2023 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

The Summit is designed to read a little earlier on the lanes out of the box due to the duller finish and weight block. The Summit will not have quite as strong of hook potential as the Absolute but this can help the Summit work down into medium oil conditions a little better while the Absolute is recommended for heavy oil only.

Question:

I am currently throwing a hyped solid, would this fit into my arsenal?

11/21/2023 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

If you are bowling in a league or in tournaments then you may need a good option for when the lanes have heavier oil conditions. The Summit would be a great option if you like the reaction you get from the Hyped Solid when the lanes are more medium to lighter oil. The Summit will ready very similar in heavy oil to what the Hyped Solid does in light oil. So you could start the night with the Summit when there is more oil on the lanes and then transition to the Hyped Solid when the lanes get to lighter conditions.
