Primal Rage

35 X 5 ½ X 45

Reaction: The Primal Rage's response to friction is very fast! This ball is able to create some steep entry angles for guys who aren't able to do so naturally. It doesn't really have a best suited lane condition from what I have seen so far, although the Primal Rage is very valuable when seeing carry down. I felt for a ball that creates so much torque off the breakpoint, I could still stay aggressive. When I tend to go to a ball that really changes direction I feel I have to back off of it a little bit to get around the corner. My game is based on being aggressive so to be able to create more entry angle and still stay firm fills in a special void in my arsenal.

Comparisons: The Primal Rage and Primal Scream are close in total hook, but the Scream just edges out the Rage. The Primal Rage is cleaner than the Primal Scream allowing it to cover several more boards at the backend. My Thrash Frenzy is more angular than my Primal Scream but isn't as strong, so the Primal Rage falls in that spot for me.

LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS BALL

This ball is great! It is clean through the fronts and fires off in the backend. To me this ball is very versatile. I can throw it out,and it comes back. I can also pull it in, and straighten my angle and still have hold. My friend just seen me roll it today, and said it was a beast and he was ordering one soon. The layout I use is pin up, right between the fingers. I roll it 15 MPH, and I have around 300-350 rpms. I can roll this 28 out to 10, and straight up 8. I would highly recommend this ball. If you get one, ENJOY!!!

Pin buster

This ball made my avg jump 25 -30 pins after getting to know what adjustments I needed to make . I roll it over the 2nd to 3rd arrow and it has a nice smooth action and then BAM, it's snaps into the pocket and destroys the pins ! It's important to know I just recently learned to throw a curve and I'm working on my timing. I was shooting 140 to 160 with other equipment and after getting to
Know this ball , my first two games were 185 and 195 . This is a fantastic ball and has a great deal of energy !

Strongest backend I have seen from Motiv

JUST DRILLED UP THE RED BALL FROM MOTIV(PRIMAL RAGE)I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS TYPE OF REACTION FROM MOTIV FOR AWHILE. VERY CLEAN THRU THE FRONT WITH A HUGE BACK END REACTION. THE MORE AREA I GAVE IT THE MORE REACTION I GOT OUT OF IT. THREW THE FIRST 11 STRIKES OUT OF THE BOX BEFORE I THREW A BAD SHOT MYSELF WHICH CAUSED IT TO GO THRU THE NOSE. I USED MY FAVORITE BALL TO COMPARE IT TO WHICH WAS THE NOMAD FROM ROTO GRIP. THE NOMAD WAS SMOOTHER BUT DID NOT FINISH NEARLY AS MUCH ON THE BACK END. I MOVED 5 AND 3 IN WITH RED BALL AND STILL HAD PLENTY OF STRENGTH ON THE FINISH. I THINK THIS BALL IS GOING TO BE THE HOT BALL TO START THE NEW SEASON. SUBMITTED BY JUMBOS PRO SHOP.

No Longer a Motiv Customer!!

I am a beginner-intermediate bowler and have an average in the 160-175 range. With this ball, it dropped that down to a 125-135 average.
I was using this ball to replace my Motive Primal Scream. I have used Motiv for years and never had an issue with them until now. The description says it can be used for Medium-Heavy oil, but that's a complete lie. As soon as the oil begins to break down this ball leaves behind an ugly pin setup. Three occasions in my last game the ball left the (7,4,5,10) pins standing after hitting the 1-3 pocket perfectly. This ball is only good for the first game(maybe). I was a Motiv fan for many years, but I think I will go with DV8 or Storm for now on. Complete waste of time and money.

Works like a charm...

I love it's simple design and solid red color. Rolls great with a lot of oil on the lane and it surely packs a lot of punch, especially on the backend. I'm a believer.

Question: how does it react as the oil is pulled down the lane?

7/10/2016 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer: Hello! When the oil is pulled down the lane, the ball won't read quite as well and will break less. It's tough to be more specific than that. The answer depends a lot on what the ball was doing before the oil got pulled down the lane. If you end up having trouble with this ball when that happens, I would recommend picking up a ball with a dull finish so you can get an earlier read and the ball will be able to hook a little bit better in the oil.
