Storm Crux

Storm's commitment to improving bowling performance continues with the Crux bowling ball. Storm created the Catalyst asymmetrical core which helps produce more angle through the pocket. Storm's research shows that increasing angle entry produces a wider margin for error to strike. By combining that core and the ERG hybrid reactive coverstock finished with a 3000 grit this ball is going to explode with performance!

heavy to med-heavy oil only.

ball seems to roll on heavy oil with lots of fingers best.. if lanes are toast going into the 3rd game or sooner might want to put it in the bag for something more with length. once the lanes dry out ball really over reacts and the question is how far over must you go to keep the ball on your side of the pocket... if your a power guy must have!! ball is no walk in the park for sure. hits hard, very predictable, hooks!!!

Amazing

High Rev full roller. 185 league average. Had a bit of learning to do throwing this ball. I previously used the virtual gravity and this thing moves so much more. I had to move over two boards and let it go farther out just to get it to hit the pocket instead of crossing over Brooklyn. I gotta say it's a fun ball to use. Since starting to use this ball I have been averaging 196 a game (it's been 12 games so far) and I still haven't totally figured it out yet. When I finally do its gonna be amazing.

Getting over the hump

I am a bowler just coming into my own with consistency in release and being able to repeat my release. I am, without a doubt, a weaker bowler compared to my peers and need as much help as I can get throwing a 14# ball. This ball really rolls great for my throw and if I do my part, the ball will do his. Nice strong predictable hook right into the pocket, and enough energy to allow a little forgiveness for when I slip up a bit. My average before was a decent 165 but I am now working my way up to the 180's and hope to really get close to the 190's soon. No ball makes the bowler, but this has been an amazing match for me. Only con is when I go on a friday lunch break practice session, the lanes at my local alley are so dry at this time that this ball stays in the bag. It needs oil to work its magic.

Storm Crux

Hand: Right
Rev Rate: Medium/High
Storm Crux Specs: 2.50 RG/ .052 Differential
Box grit: 3000

The Storm Crux, the newest hype in the Storm Bowling Premiere line. Storm bowling continues to produce amazing and addictive bowling equipment for the world to savor. This ball is another fun and exciting creation that will certainly be another great add to the bag. With the new asymmetrical Catalyst core, and ERG reactive hybrid cover stock, this combination creates a really strong, yet continuous and smooth ball reaction that slaps the pins silly, a great starter ball for any high to medium high oil, and longer patterns.

My personal experience so far in a very short time that I have owned this ball has already produced an 800 series within the first 2 weeks of owning it, this was the ball I started with and contributed to this series, and of course another great Storm ball I wound up going to in the middle of the series helped to get to the finish line with success. There is no reason for this ball not to become a new favorite for any bowler, whether you have a high or lower rev. rate, this ball is a very useful piece to cut through those lengthy or medium to heavy oil patterns with ease and blend the lane out making things look so so easy. I highly recommend this ball to everyone, and wish everybody the best of luck in making those pins disappear to the back of the pit.

Very impressive raised my score 30 pins.

The first game I used this ball, on a 42 foot oil pattern, I rolled a 212. The next day on fresh oil I rolled 190, 193, 195 with ease. Great Ball!

Great ball, LOTS of power in the pocket!

Im usually a 205 avg bowler. For the past 4 weeks with this ball I've averaged right around 225. It's a powerful ball, and if you make a mistake and miss the pocket it comes in with so much power I'm getting strikes that normally wouldn't be strikes.

Storm Crux for low rev., med. oil...

This review was for a 14 lb ball, ave speed 9.7 mph, drilled pin down under 4th digit, compensation about 30 deg. off thumb. Bowling lower rev., this gave better reactivity at the back end allowing a more straight path through the oil (focus of the arc was closer to the pins). On medium oil this saves having to bowl through the dry spot as much.

Excellent choice

When I had this ball drilled I was told that it would be the strongest ball in my bag, (I carry three now.) At first it wasn't, but after some breaking in of about 10 games, it has proven to be just that. I recommend to anyone who buys this ball to break it in using the same delivery as you would with your current ball before making any adjustments. Sorry, my mistake! Give it more "room", and it will definitely respond. Be careful of it as the lanes break down or dry as it will really take off on you. Nice consistent break throughout, with a great finish. Solid pocket hits. Pins will be trashed. TBN, I am comparing this ball to my other two which are a 4 year old Storm Pearl and my Rhino. Also, I am a lefty! I Enjoy!

Customer Questions & Answers  |  Reviews

Question: If I would polish my hybrid cover stock CRUX with the step two 1500 grit polished would it be anywhere close to the CRUX PEARL ?

9/9/2016 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer: It would be close, but not exact due to the coverstock. Also, keep in mind that pearl covers generally provide good length with a strong snap, whereas hybrids and solids begin transitioning earlier, even with polish.
